Summer Projects Update

The Copper Mountain Resort Association is engaged in two sizable projects this Summer.

The first project is creating a childcare center for all employees within Copper Mountain. After employees sign up, if there is space available, priority will then go to Copper Mountain residents followed by Summit County residents. Childcare in Summit County is a huge need as it is throughout the Country with over 650 families on a waiting list for childcare. Our facility will be able to serve up to 46 kids at any one time. The facility will be located in Snowbridge square in the old “Copper Still” / Salsa Mountain Cantina space. We have a lot of tenant-finish work to do and expect to be ready early winter ‘23/24 season. For more information about this facility or to get on the waiting list please go to https://www.visitcoppermountain.com/childcare.

The second project is the snowmelt and paver expansion project. The attached plan identifies the areas of expansion which are divided into areas A1, A2, B and C. Mt Plaza (area H) will also be adding snowmelt and pavers in their driveway in conjunction with this project.  Area A1 will start first, followed by Area A2 than B and ending with Area C. The plan attached shows the fencing (heavy red line) which will cordon off area A-1. This fencing will be in position starting today. We anticipate this section to take about 3 to 4 weeks to complete. Once areas A1 and A2 are complete we will then move on to area B and then finally to C.

Please know that throughout this project there will be signage in front of key access points indicating how to navigate around the construction. Also, be assured, there will always be access to the businesses that are adjacent to this project. The signage will indicate the route to those businesses affected which will change depending on what area is under construction. After all, we all need our morning coffee.

I anticipate this project will take the entirety of the summer/into early fall to complete. While construction is a mess and one of this magnitude is impactful to everyone, the result will be worth the trouble for elevating our resort grounds up to a level we all expect.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
